We provide the full spectrum of ambulance services including Basic Life Support (BLS), and Specialty Care Transports (SCT). Our fully equipped and modern fleet meets or exceeds applicable industry and regulatory standards. We are one of the largest licensed to providers in New Jersey. Units are staffed by state certified Emergency Medical Technicians, Registered Nurses.

Our leadership position within the industry permits us to attract and retain a well trained and experienced staff. We provide BLS emergency and non-emergency transportation services for some the the aureas largest hospitals, nursing homes, long term acute care facilities, and rehabilitation facilities.
A Critical Care Transport Unit or Advanced Life Support Transport Unit may be required for any patient who is ventilator dependant, has a tracheostomy which requires frequent suctionong, requires IV medication nfusion/fluids, and/or needs neurological or cardiac monitoring. Our specialized teams in New York and Pennsylvania include a Paramedic with specialized training including Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. In New Jersey, our Specialty Care Transport Teams include a Registered Nurse with both critical care experience and PALS/ACLS certification.
All Critical Care Transport Units are stocked with a cardiac monitor/pacer/defibrillator, IV pumps, medication/IV equipment, and a Pulmonetic Systems LTV-series ventilator. By utilizing the LTV ventilator, we are able to provide patient care for almost all ventilated patients, even those who require BiPAP and Pressure Control ventilation.

Transporting obese patients can be challenging. Your medical transportation provider must be properly equipped to correctly transport these individuals. This requires special vehicles, a larger stretcher, and specially trained personnel. Shown in this picture is an example of a LifeStar Critical Care vehicle with a hydraulic lift, making it easier to transport obese patients. LifeStar Response maintains a fleet of Bariatric Transport Units, most of which are also licensed as ALS/Critical Care Transport Units.
A state-of-the-art dispatch facility serves as the control center for the LifeStar Fleet. Shown in this picture is the Totowa, NJ installation. All vehicles are tracked using GPS position-reporting to ensure that the closest appropriate vehicle is dispatched to your request. Computer-assisted dispatching is employed to provide accurate patient care and billing.
LifeStar Response performs all routine maintenance and repairs on-site. Our mechanics work 7 days a week performing repairs and preventative maintenance which ensures that the vehicle will perform as expected while transporting you or your patients.
We provide premium wheelchair service for clients that require assisted transportation but do not require an ambulance. Our trained and courteous staff assists clients at the point of pick up and conveys them safely to their destination.
Our wheelchair van fleet is comprised of late model, lift equipped vans.
Wheelchair van service is available daily although this service is not covered by Medicare other insurances are accepted when pre-authorized.
Each of our courteous coach vehicle drivers is given extensive training to ensure excellent service. In New Jersey, all coach drivers are certified as a Mobility Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAV-T). This means that each individual has completed a state certified course to perpare them to adequately meet the needs of those patients who use our wheelchair coach services. We look forward to sharing one of the area's largest coach fleets with you and your patients.

A staff of over 350 dedicated employees makes quality care possible. LifeStar’s field personnel are deployed in modern well equipped fleet that includes 14 SCT Units, 34 BLS ambulances, 44 MAVT vehicles and 4 Bariatric capable units.
The fleet is maintained by a staff of experienced and certified vehicle mechanics. LifeStar has made a commitment to equip our staff with state of the art medical equipment. Our biomedical equipment includes supplies and equipment for the special populations that we serve in addition to cardiac monitoring/treatment systems, ventilators and multi parameter physiologic monitoring systems. The Training and Quality Assurance Department provides training and operational support in addition to interfacing with a licensed biomedical engineering concern.
